How to find IP address
You can find your IP address by typing "What is my IP" into a search engine or visiting a website such as whatismyip.com.
Another way is to open Command Prompt or Terminal in your computer and type "ipconfig" (for Windows) or "ifconfig" (for Mac and Linux) and press enter. This will display a list of network interfaces and their IP addresses.
In mobile devices you can check your Ip in the settings -> network & internet -> wifi -> you will find your IP address next to the "IP address"
Function and importance of IP address
An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. The IP address serves two main functions: it identifies the host or network interface, and it provides the location of the host in the network.
Without IP addresses, it would be impossible for devices to communicate with one another over a network or the internet. IP addresses are essential for routing data packets between devices and allowing them to communicate with each other. Each device on a network must have a unique IP address, so that data can be sent to the correct device and no confusion occurs.
In short, IP addresses are the unique identification numbers that devices use to communicate over a network and the internet, allowing for the efficient routing of data between devices.
